For more than 10 years "Mas Sorrer" has been a benchmark for summer nights in Empordà.

One of the things that struck me the most when I discovered it was the path of giant sunflowers that accompanied you from the parking lot to the restaurant. I found it mysterious and funny at the same time. It was like a maze that prevented you from seeing what was at the end! With great sadness I have to say that the last time I went, the sunflowers had disappeared.

It has reaffirmed itself as a multicultural space with a diversity of very interesting activities. Programming is variant. There are concerts, short film festivals, yoga, Pilates, cooking workshops, calçotades, wine tastings, beer tastings... In short, it is a very lively space that attracts more people every day.

In "Mas Sorrer" there are different spaces for different alternatives.

On the right is the farmhouse; completely covered in ivy and surrounded by small tables. No table is the same as the one next to it and, on the other hand, the set of all of them is perfect. Some are uncovered and others are under a small porch. A thousand unique details that make it different: small pots with aromatic plants, retro posters hanging on the walls, old refrigerators, sofas made with pallets, old beer boxes...

On the left, a reddish construction makes you anticipate that it will be right where people continue the night after dinner. And so it is. White tables and chairs, all the same, are scattered around the garden. On the side and behind, there are areas with a little more privacy.

The interior is reminiscent of an old grocery store. Traditional wooden tables and chairs are nestled beneath walls crammed with food and painted blackboards.

Type: mediterranean cuisine. They are great defenders of local cuisine, to such an extent that they take a lot of product from their own garden. The eggs are organic, the pasta is fresh and made by them, the meat is from free range animals and the fish from the fish market ... it couldn't be better! I had the opportunity to eat:

  • Syndria Ice Cream- Refreshing. Very creative dish and very suitable for the time of year in which I frequent it.
  • Zucchini Carpaccio and Pesto Vinaigrette - Amazing. Cheese gives the finishing touch. Tasty and fresh dish. Fine.
  • Fresh spinach salad and marrying cake with pipes - Dish that I would repeat. The cheese is strong, but they manage to soften it with the freshness of the cherry tomatoes and the vinaigrette. For me it is one of the star dishes.
  • Ceviche - Different from all the ones I have tried. With good and strong taste.
  • Cod carpaccio with olivada - For me, another star dish. A classic of the house that makes it superb.
  • Prawns in tempura - One of the oriental touches of the night.
  • Tuna Tataki - Melts in your mouth. Tuna is one of my weaknesses and this one is good treated. Perfect.
  • Organic Black Angus Beef - Delicious. Again, good product and well cooked.
  • Truffle Mashed Potato - No one can leave without trying it. It is the perfect accompaniment to almost all dishes.
  • Sweet green peppers from Rupià - The second accompaniment. Good, but I'll stick with the truffled mashed potato.
  • Cheesecake - Really good.
  • Truffles- Delicious.

It is a "must" visit "Mas Sorrer" at least once in summer.
